1. Who We Are
VantEdge (“we”, “our”, “us”) is an online platform providing financial education and investment research tools, accessible at vantedge.club. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use and protect it.

2. Data We Collect
2a. When you sign up with email
- Email address and hashed password (we never store your password in plain text)
- Display name and username (handle) that you choose
2b. When you sign in with Google or X (Twitter)
If you choose to sign in using Google, Google shares certain profile data with us on your behalf: your name, email address, and profile picture.
We also receive and securely store OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens issued by these providers. These tokens are used solely to maintain your authenticated session and to refresh it when it expires; we do not use them to read your emails, posts, or any other data beyond what is listed above.
2c. Data you enter into the platform
- Portfolio holdings, transaction history, and watchlists you create
- Profile information you optionally add (date of birth, profile picture uploaded by you)
2d. Usage data
- Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps)
- Session activity used to enforce security timeouts (e.g., automatic logout after 12 hours of inactivity)
3. How We Use Your Data
- To create and manage your account and authenticate your sessions
- To provide portfolio analysis, stock research, and social features of the platform
- To display your profile (name, picture, handle) to other users where you have chosen to make content public
- To send transactional emails (e.g., password reset) via Resend; we do not send marketing email without your explicit consent
- To improve the platform through aggregated, anonymised usage analytics
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
- Google OAuth: for sign-in. Governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Cloudinary: for storing profile pictures you upload. Images are stored on Cloudinary’s servers.
- Resend: for sending transactional emails.
- Yahoo Finance (via API): for market data; no personal data is shared with them.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (e.g., for tax or compliance purposes).
OAuth tokens are retained for the duration of your account. You can revoke VantEdge’s access to your Google or X account at any time through your Google or X account settings, which will invalidate the stored tokens.
6. Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including encrypted storage of credentials, HTTPS for all data in transit, and session tokens stored in secure HTTP-only cookies. Automatic session expiry is enforced after 12 hours of inactivity and OAuth access tokens are rotated every hour.
No system is completely secure. If you become aware of any security issue, please contact us immediately at support@vantedge.club.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Revoke OAuth access (via Google or X account settings)

8. Children’s Privacy
VantEdge is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
